+ Why was Eco Style Project created and what is the purpose of the brand?
Eco Style Project was the second brand to be born under the Ethical Brand Co umbrella. The owners of this company, Luke and Julia Charters, successfully established EverEscents Organic Hair Care more than a decade prior to the launch of Eco Style Project. A demand had grown for a small, core group of products that would provide high performance yet be free from harmful and unnecessary ingredients. The EverEscents range offered some hairsprays and waxes, but due to the requirement for these products to remain Certified Organic, another brand was to be created to deliver this high-performance (but exceptionally clean) factor.
The purpose of Eco Style Project is to inspire and encourage everyday people to embrace their own creativity and style (hence the name Eco Style Project). This brand is for absolutely everyone – all genders, all ages, all personalities. We want hair to be fun.

+ Does Eco Style Project test on animals?
We are against the testing of cosmetic products and ingredients on animals. We do not and will never test our products or ingredients on animals. To show our commitment we have obtained official accreditation from Choose Cruelty Free Australia.
+ Is Eco Style Project Vegan Friendly?
Eco Style Project is a Vegan Friendly certified company with all Eco Style Project products complying to Vegan requirements and certified by Safe Cosmetics Australia. Ingredients lists are clearly explained on the packaging of all Eco Style Project products and stated on both the Eco Style Project and Ethical Brand Co websites.
+ Are your ingredients locally sourced and products locally made?
Our Eco Style Project products are manufactured in an amazing factory here in Australia. We source the Eco Style Project ingredients from Australian supplies wherever possible and the sugar cane used to fuel our aerosols is actually grown at a beautiful farm in Bundaberg, Queensland. We are very proud to be a Certified Australian Made and Owned company and support all Australian businesses too.
+ Can you recycle or reuse the Eco Style Project packaging?
All Eco Style Project packaging is 100% recyclable. The empty aerosols can be placed directly in the recycle bin and the wax containers can be rinsed out and placed in there too. The wax containers can also be reused as they make great bobby pin / hair accessory holders.
- Each state / country may have their own recycling laws and practices. If you would like to take that extra step before recycling our aerosol cans, you could remove the nozzle. Please note that removing the nozzle is not essential.
+ What is Biomass?
Biomass begins where Certified Organic sugar cane is grown and harvested. The sugar cane is then crushed and turned into a broth which is fermented. After fermentation, the liquid is distilled and purified as a Certified Organic substance used as the base ingredient to fuel our aerosols. Altogether, instead of using harsh, toxic alcohols to fuel our aerosols, we use sugar cane. Eco Style Project is the first company to use Certified Organic Biomass to bring our customers eco-friendly aerosols that reduce your carbon footprint.
+ Does the Dry Shampoo leave any white residue?
Absolutely not. White residue is a big problem with some Dry Shampoos due to a cheap, nasty ingredient called Talc. There is nothing worse than using a Dry Shampoo and having to worry about white powdery roots or white marks lingering on your clothes. The Eco Style Project Dry Shampoo will not leave any white residue what so ever. This is because we use Organic Tapioca Starch as our absorbant rather than Talc. Better for your hair, better for your health, and looks better too!
+ What makes your Hairspray unique and what does toxic free formula mean?
The use of Certified Organic Biomass as the base formula of our aerosols makes our hairspray the cleanest and most unique hairspray on the market. Our company is the first and only company to use this amazing ingredient to fuel our aerosol products. The Eco Style Project Hairspray contains a completely toxic-free formula meaning that it does not contain toxic ingredients such as silicones, harsh alcohols and solvents, xylene, formaldehyde and synthetic fragrances. We will leave it up to you to research the effects of these ingredients and we encourage you to steer clear from toxic Hairsprays.
+ Are your products safe to use on kids?
Our products are certainly safe to use on kids. If you are a parent looking for non-toxic styling products to use on your kiddies for school, dance concerts and other events, Eco Style Project is your go to. Our products are all easily rinsed out with just water and are safe to leave in the hair for days.
+ Are your products pregnancy safe?
All Eco Style Project products are pregnancy safe. Some mummas are hesitant to use aerosols, particuarly hairsprays when they are pregnant; but Eco Style Project products are very safe, unique and nothing to be worried about during pregnancy.
+ Are your products safe for coloured hair?
As a professional quality product line, all Eco Style Project products are 100% safe for coloured hair.
+ What do your products smell like?
The Eco Style Project Hairspray and Dry Shampoo contain a natural fragrance of Bergamot, Peach, Rose, Jasmine, Violet, Sandalwood and Vanilla. The scent is refreshing but also very subtle.
The Pomade has a very refreshing, fruity and zesty scent.
The Putty has a sweet, earthy and more mild scent.
All Eco Style Project products do not smell harsh or synthetic and are loved by all ages and genders.

Kaolin Kaolin is the main ingredient in our Putty. Kaolin is a naturally occurring clay which has been found to strengthen the hair, improve elasticity and help repair damaged strands. Kaolin can also assist in soothing the scalp, treating dandruff and encourage hair growth. It also helps to absorb excess sebum, leaving the hair with a clean, matt finish.
Organic Pumpkin seed oil Pumpkin Seed Oil contains a rich source of antioxidants, essential fatty acids and minerals, making it a powerhouse of nourishing goodness for the hair and scalp.
