Calling all Brides-To-Be of North Queensland

Keely Anderson of Pinned Hair in Cairns, Queensland has been in the hairdressing game for over 10 years and has fallen in love with bridal hair, making it a specialty in her work.

“One of the things I love most about working in the wedding industry is the excitement and adrenaline of a wedding morning; I love making my clients happy and what a day to make them feel happy and beautiful!” Keely exclaims.

Keely has been using the Eco Style Project range for a while now and is particularly a fan of the Hairspray, which she uses for everything – weddings and in salon.

“It is excellent as both a working and finishing spray.” Keely said. “It is so lightweight and smells so fresh and I love that it’s non-toxic, my clients love it as well!”

While good-quality, high performance products are an important piece to the up-styling puzzle, their purposes are enhanced by technique. Up styling and bridal hair can be difficult and stressful, especially for those who are just beginning their journey. Keely offers some amazing advice to budding stylists and tells us that her number one golden rule to creating any hairstyle is the prep.

“I harp on about this a lot, but it’s the truth” she confirms. “It’s like building an incredible house… you can’t do it without a foundation.”

For someone who hasn’t been in the wedding industry for long, Keely’s wisdom and tips are none other than enlightening to so many hairdressers looking to expand their knowledge by tapping into the bridal / formal styling world.

“I love making my clients happy and what a day to make them feel happy and beautiful!”

Keely cannot stress the statement “relationships are key” enough when working in the wedding industry. “I’ve been fortunate enough to meet some incredible vendors. I will always normally work with a makeup artist on the morning of a wedding. I will usually meet the florist, photographer and videographer as well, and on the odd occasion a wedding planner.” She explains. “Through meeting fellow vendors, collaboration projects are a great way to get creative and deliver some amazing content for your socials; this is also an excellent way to get your name out there. Make sure you always tag other vendors in your posts; even though you might work for yourself, it still takes a team to bring a wedding together!”

Keely’s passion for bridal hair is infectious, which is why she is already so successful within her business.
